Don is on its way to becoming a post-tropical cyclone during the day but it has been a hurricane in high latitudes (around 40ºN).
Don currently ranks 5th on the record for the longest-lasting tropical cyclone system in the month of July (just behind Emily of 2005). For the moment, 10 days, from 14 July to 24 July.
